A major focal point in the new Dutch Gaming Law will be: Combatting and prevention of problem gambling, landbased and online.
The Bill oblige operators to a progressive intervention- and care policy with regard to the prevention of gambling addiction and the protection of consumers.
Operators will have a legal responsibility to monitor and analyse the behaviour of their (online) customers and to timely intervene in harmful gambling behaviour. Vulnerable players need to be proactively approached in the Dutch language. The Bill provides in a Central Exclusion Register, managed by the Dutch Gaming Authority (Ksa).
Operators need to deploy trained staff in this field, but the Law allows to outsource the Problem Gambling operation.
